The Nitsend app

Nitsend runs locally. It sends nothing anywhere, except what you send yourself through the command you configure, like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, or your own script. What goes along is exactly what you see in the compose box: your captures, your notes, and the app name and window title chips.

Captures, recordings, and prompts stay in ~/Nitsend on your computer until you delete them. Nothing is written to the Desktop. Nitsend doesn’t read window contents, your clipboard, or other windows.

After the free captures, your key activates online once per computer and checks in about once a week. That sends nitsend.ai your key, a one-way hash of the computer’s hardware ID (never the ID itself), a label like “macOS 15.6 · Apple silicon”, and the app version, so you can see and remove your computers at nitsend.ai/devices. No hostname, no username, nothing about what you capture. The Nitsend app itself sends no analytics.

When you record with the mic on, Nitsend turns what you said into text on your Mac with Apple’s on-device speech recognition, so it can go to your agent as words. The audio never leaves your Mac, and macOS asks for Speech Recognition permission the first time.

This website

This website uses PostHog to understand how people find and use it: pages visited, where you came from, and clicks on things like Download and Buy. It sets a first-party cookie for that. We don’t run ads, don’t track you across other sites, and never sell data.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Payments go through Stripe, which handles your card details; we never see them. Stripe tells us your email address so we can send your key and handle refunds. If you use the key recovery form or sign in at nitsend.ai/devices, we use your email only to send your keys or a one-time sign-in link, and a sign-in cookie keeps you signed in there for 7 days.
